Robert Eugene Haight

Robert Haight, 86, of Granbury, TX passed away on July 10, 2017. He was born on January 24, 1931 in David City, NE to Lewis Haight and Idelle Townley. Robert grew up in York, NE. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he served as an officer in the United States Air Force. Robert married Jean Whipple and raised 3 children. Robert worked for John Deere in Waterloo, IA for 40 years. He was awarded the ASAE Cyrus Hall McCormick Gold in 1995. Robert and Jean moved to Granbury, TX in 1998 and were active members of the De Cordova Bend Community where he served on the Board of Directors and multiple committees. Robert and Jean were members of First Presbyterian Church in Granbury.
Robert is survived by his wife Jean, sons Ronald (wife Andrea) and James, a daughter Laurie (husband Barry), grandsons Sean and Neil, and brothers Howard and Roger. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Burial will be in Waterloo, Iowa.

Visitation will be at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, TX from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm on Thursday July 13, 2017. A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at the De Cordova Bend Clubhouse on Tuesday July 18, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
