Roger was born at Hanna Marks Hospital in Glen Rose, Texas on September 12, 1951. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking BBQ. He loved westerns and being outdoors. He loved his family and friends and was always there if you needed him. He worked 50 years at the sand plant and he believed in his union, Local 780. Roger was preceded in death by his parents: C.B. and Juanita Thompson; brothers: Alan and Danny Thompson; sister: Linda Beauchamp.

Roger is survived by his sons: Steven Thompson and wife Heather, Brandon Thompson and wife Misty; grandchildren: Eric, Tanner, Anthony, Hillary, Rachel, Canyon, Maddison, Arianna, McKenzie, and Makayleigh; great – grandchildren: Brantley and Levi; brothers: Jimmy and Tommy Thompson and sister: Shirley Gray.
