Roger Dale Williams was born June 13, 1951, in Fort Worth. He was the second child born to Johnny H. and Martha Louise Williams. He attended school in Fort Worth and graduated from Boswell High School. Roger then enrolled in Tarlton State University in Stephenville seeking a career in nursing. He was employed at Harris-Methodist in Fort Worth for 5 years before becoming a rancher in Cleburne.
His enjoyment of the open range was something he cherished, raising miniature Belted Galloway’s and miniature horses. Planting a true vegetable garden was also included in his routine.
Roger married his “true love,” Elizabeth Swindle of Satalite Beach, Florida, in 1999 and together shared a wonderful life of true love. As his health began to fail him, they only grew closer. Truly living the meaning of ” in sickness and health.”
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Eugene Williams.
Roger leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Williams; sisters, Cheryl Martin and husband, Derrell, of Rusk, Peggy Strand and husband, Mike, of Granbury; brother, James Williams and wife, Becky, of Granbury; aunt and uncle, Cecil and Edna Baker of Fort Worth; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A special goodbye from his lifetime companions, Boots, Bernice, Mikey and Maryah, and his cows and horses.
