Rogers Boyce Porterfield, 80, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016, in Fort Worth.

He was born on December 29, 1935, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Clara Porterfield; and siblings, Naomi Gillespie, William H. Porterfield Jr., and Edith Kelly.

Rogers served in the U.S. Navy and then began a career with Delta Airlines. He enjoyed his retirement, where he sang in the choir at church and went to the senior center when active. When he was not able to drive any longer, he continued to enjoy watching sports and listening to country music. He loved his family, and he will be greatly missed.

Rogers is survived by his children, Patricia Marinelli and husband, Steve, Michael Porterfield, and Steven Porterfield and wife, Marilynn; grandchildren, Kathryn and Nathan Porterfield; niece, Sherri Gillespie-Holmes and husband, Lynn; nephew, Clinton Kelly, wife, Sherry, and their daughter, Meghan.
