Ronnie W. Yates of Granbury, Texas went to be with his heavenly Father on November 27, 2021 at the age of 77. Ronnie was born February 27th, 1944 in San Angelo, Texas to Wendell & Bonnie Yates. He had one sister, Gwen.
Ronnie served in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He was the owner and manager of Yates Paint & Body shop in San Angelo Texas for over 45 years.
Ronnie was married to Sue Yates and the couple had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November. In that time, they enjoyed fishing, traveling, and competing in chili cook-offs.
After retirement, Ronnie and Sue moved to Granbury Texas. He enjoyed his retirement years watching his great grandchildren play their various sports. He enjoyed playing 42’s, croquet, and other games with his friends. Ronnie will be remembered by his fun and happy spirit. He loved to joke around and make you smile.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Sue, sister Gwen Holcumb, children Wayne Yates, Cherri and her husband David Jenkins, Terri Nash, Jerri Nash, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepson Larry Nash & most precious great granddaughter Rachael Chaffin.
Ronnie will have a burial ceremony at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery with military honors. The date has not yet been determined at this time.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rachael’s Hero Fund through the St. Baldrick’s Organization in honor of his great granddaughter Rachael Chaffin.
