On May 13, 2022, Rose Mary Delzer (73) passed away at her home in Granbury, Texas after a years-long struggle with dementia. Rose was the youngest of nine children born to Rose and Harold Mollett in Aberdeen, Washington. She graduated from Aberdeen H.S. in 1967. Rose and her husband Keith were married 44 years ago in Aberdeen. Together, they have raised three loving children, Dan (Mireille) Izzi of San Antonio, Jill (Jud) Griffith of Tolar, TX and Kadie (Chad) Newman of Seattle. They have been blessed with nine wonderful grandkids: Shawn, Colin and Seth….Cooper and Maci….Alexys, Riley, Harper and Weston.
Rose spent years earning the title of “Working Mom”, having mostly worked in office management, and as Director of the Elma (WA) Cooperative Pre-School. Her favorite job was Legislative Assistant to Washington State Senator J.T. Quigg, leaving upon the birth of her third child, to be a stay-at-home Mom for a few years.
No matter the age of Rose’s children, she remained in touch with them regularly, calling just to check in. Her grandchildren blessed her for the last 22 years, causing her to travel to see them often, needing a “grandkid fix”.
Rose loved her Lord and her church family at Tolar Baptist Church. She loved worship and especially the music, often exalting the Lord with hands raised in praise and more than occasionally, dancing along with it. Along with her husband, she loved her role as a greeter, chatting with and hugging both friends and strangers alike at the front door.
Rose was sunshine and happiness to her family and friends, with a smile and overwhelming charm that radiated life when she entered the room. She was an “otter”, constantly moving about and chatting with anyone she could see. If there was a lull in conversation, she would often chime in with “Then what”? She could sense need in others and was never afraid to approach strangers with words of encouragement and joy and usually a hug for good measure!
Rose is survived by her loving husband Keith, her children and grandchildren, a brother Roy of Elma WA, a sister Geri of Bremerton WA, several sisters-in law and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her!
The family would like to thank Beyond Faith Hospice and her personal caregivers, especially Mary, Angie, Sharon, Bethia, Amanda P, Maegan, Amanda H, Laura, Marigrace, Arturo and Brittany for their dedication and expressions of love to her!
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held at Tolar Baptist Church, 400 Tolar Hwy, Tolar, TX on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 AM.
