Roy David “Cobb” Rodden, 77, passed away, Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Azle.
Service: 1 p.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Chapel. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Mr. Rodden was born March 26, 1935, in Clarksville, Texas. He married Shirley Ann Rice on March 31, 1956, in Clarksville. They have lived in the Fort Worth area since 1965 and in Azle for the last 18 years.
Cobb retired from Austin Construction Company as an heavy equipment operator in 1993. He loved fishing, playing dominoes, watching western movies, and his family.
“PaPa” was preceded in death by a son, David Rodden; a daughter, Rosa Smith; and brothers, John Lewis Rodden and James Leonard Rodden.
He is survived by: His wife, Shirley A. Rodden; sons, Louis Rodden and Anthony Rodden of Azle; daughters, Chrissy Horton and husband, Rick, of Azle, Becky Brooks and husband, Bill, of Mineral Wells; his best friend, Dean Wermter; and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.
