GLEN ROSE — Royce “Pete” Pelham, Sr., 74, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Apr. 5, 2012.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Monday, Apr. 9, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Lanham Mill Cemetery in Somervell County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials: American Hospice.
Mr. Pelham was born Apr. 22, 1937, in Dale County, Ala., to Winifred Jewel Pelham and Lettie Mytildia Harris Pelham Smith. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees. Pete moved to Glen Rose for a short time in the 1970’s and then returned permanently in 1986. Pete was an over-the-road truck driver for 50 plus years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Bertha Sather and Martha Rinehart, wife of 30 years, Lana Joyce Pelham, and sons, Gary Evartt and Shelton South.
Survivors: Loving wife, Linda Pelham; children, Dean Pelham and wife, Patricia, Larry Pelham and wife, Ruth, Cory Pelham and wife, Jessie, Royce Pelham, Jr. and wife, Angie, Garnett and husband, Keith, Monica Karl, Elizabeth Boyd; adopted children, Doug Evartt, Terry Evartt, Darlene Dodson and husband, Doug, Kathy McGinnis, Lanney Evartt; 24 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many many friends.
