Ruby Maxwell

Ruby Maxwell, 81, of Fort Worth, Texas, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on February 27, 2022.

Ruby was born November 9,1940 in Fremont, Ohio. At the age of five Ruby and her mother moved to Buffalo, New York.  Ruby was ten when they moved to Texas.  She met the love of her life Wayne Maxwell, whom she married on November 15, 1958.  They were happily married for 42 years and were blessed with two loving daughters, Julie, and Cheryl.  Ruby was a grandmother to Brooke, Kaylee, Garrett, and Caden, and great grandmother to Rylie and Madilynn. Ruby loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ruby lived a very fulfilling life taking care of those she loved.  She enjoyed dancing, family gatherings, watching her grandchildren participate in all their activities, playing with her great grandchildren and playing games with her best friends and family. Spending time with her family was important to her. As often as she could, Ruby had a full table of friends and family for dinner.  Ruby’s kitchen was a favorite stop for family where a good meal was sure to be had.  One of the many things that made her food so good was that she grew her own vegetables and always made sure there was plenty for the local bunnies who were never chased off. The holidays were Ruby’s favorite time of the year. Cooking and baking was something she was very passionate about, with Christmas dinner being a favorite. One of her beloved Christmas traditions was spending a day with her grandchildren, taking them to lunch and shopping so they could buy gifts for family.  They would finish the day off with baking cookies, banana nut bread and decorating her tree.

Ruby will be remembered for her love of baking, dogs (especially huskies), watching her grandkids activities, playing with her great grandchildren, her green thumb, and her feisty attitude.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Maxwell and her parents, Doris and Pete Wood.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Charlie) Cash, Cheryl (Gary) Amirault; Granddaughters, Brooke Beavers, Kaylee Olson; Grandsons, Garrett and Caden Cash; Great-Grandchildren, Rylie and Madilynn; Brother, Ronnie Wilcox and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ruby will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
