Sammy Joe Hyde, 71 of Glen Rose, Texas passed away on Tuesday August 23, 2022.  A Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm, Friday September 9, 2022, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Glen Rose, Texas.  A Celebration of life will be held at the home of Alan and Debbie Edwards in Eulogy following his memorial service. Maps will be provided to the home of Alan and Debbie Edwards.

Sammy was born in Sulphur Springs and grew up in Grand Prairie graduating from Grand Prairie High School in 1969.  After serving in the Air National Guard, he began his life-long career as a professional truck driver retiring after 30+ years.  In 1996, he moved to Glen Rose and built his house on 16 acres sharing it with his wife Brenda and numerous pets.   Sammy was great with his hands and had the ability to fix anything and was quick to share his knowledge and tools with anyone that needed them.

Sammy thoroughly enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, working on his collection of cars and vacations in Tennessee and Mexico.    He was an avid collector of “Texas” memorabilia and enjoyed displaying his finds throughout his home and property.

Sammy was fun, honest, charming, smart, contrary, and kind-hearted … Everything you would ever want in a brother, brother-in-law, and friend.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Juanita Hyde and his wife, Brenda Hyde. He is survived by his brother, Jeff Hyde and spouse, Lisa; sisters: Rebecca Jensen and spouse, Ron, Nancy Wright and spouse, Terry and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.
