Sandra “Sandi” Kay Griffis, 72, passed away on Thursday, October 20,2022 at her home in Granbury with her family by her side. She was born May 18,1950 in Jacksonville, Illinois to Richard and Dorothy Meadows.
Sandi was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was affectionately known as Nana Sandi by her grandchildren. She was of the Lutheran faith. Sandi enjoyed singing and sang in high school competitions, The Irving Corale, in church and later singing for numerous weddings. She was also an avid reader and was a published author of poetry.
Sandi was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Flemming and father, Howard Meadows, as well as two brothers, Richard Meadows, Jr., and John Meadows.
She is survived by her husband of (42) years, Don Griffis; sons, Larry Brooks, II and wife Amy, Steven Griffis and wife Tina; daughters, Pam Griffis Larsen and husband Dylen and Marsha Griffis Jordan; grandchildren, Riley and Jim Walker, Sidney Brooks, Jaeden and Cameron Pryor, Christopher Schult, Danica Larsen, Marlie Larsen, Taylor and Dan Kitchen, Evan Timmerman, Dylan Bohanon and Amanda Bohanon; sisters, Carolyn Allen, Tina Harris, and Cindy Sparks; brother Shawn Meadows.
Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm. Tuesday, October 25,2022 at the Wiley Funeral Home Chapel of Granbury.
Funeral services will be held at 10am. Wednesday, October 26,2022 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury with Graveside Service and burial following at 1pm Wednesday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd. in Irving, TX.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sandi, may be sent to her family.
