Sharon Gibbs, loving wife, mother, sister, and “Grandy” passed away Monday, July 30 at a Fort Worth hospital.
Graveside Service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle.
Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Sharon was born in McAlester, Okla., and graduated Azle High School in 1959. After high school she attended Decatur Baptist University and spent her professional career with Southwestern Bell Telephone until her retirement in 1992 after 32 years of dedicated service. After retirement, she and her family owned Lake Worth Videos, NAI Custom Flooring and several other businesses. Sharon was a proud member of the Choctaw Tribe and a stout OU football fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Gibbs; parents, Rayburn and Pearl Tidwell, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Gibbs, all of whom were from Azle.
Survivors: include her son, Casey Gibbs; step-sons, Brian and Ricky Gibbs; sisters, Delores Burton and Sandy McClendon; niece, Paula Burton; nephews, Tripp Burton, Max Burton and wife, LeRae all from Azle; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and many friends and extended family.
