Shelby Ray Basham “Pops”, age 82, of Ft. Worth, was surrounded by his loving children when he went to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, February 6. He was born October 26, 1939 in Irvington, KY, to the late Marvin J and Kathleen Mitcham Basham.
Service: 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in Biggers Funeral Chapel
Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park
Visitation: 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Biggers Funeral Home
He was the most loving father and grandfather, and he never met a stranger. His biggest joys in life were his children and grandchildren. He loved going to Jayden’s little league baseball games, he was one of his biggest fans. He loved playing with Emmy J, seeing her smile and giggle would just make his day. Along with his grandchildren, he also enjoyed spending time with the girls, Jessica, Audree and Ashtyn. In his free time, he loved to fish.
He and his father were proud Master Masons with The Grand Lodge of Kentucky, F. & A.M., Lodge No. 868, Irvington, KY.
He is survived by his children, son, Justin Basham and wife, Jennifer Starr; grandson, Jayden Ray Basham of Weatherford; daughter, Jennifer Martinez and husband, Johnny Martinez; granddaughter, Emersen J Martinez “Emmy J”; grand dog, Millie of Millsap; sister, Patsy Wilson and husband, Don of Leitchfield, KY; niece, Dana Hicks and husband, Scott and children of Lebanon, TN; nephew, Todd Wilson and wife, Stephanie and children of Owensboro, KY; along with many cousins and dear friends.
