Shirley Davis, 76, passed to her place in heaven Saturday, April 6, 2013, at home with her family by her side.
A celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6852 Baker Blvd., Richland Hills. A private committal will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens in McAlester, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105, or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 3601 Hulen St., Suite 601, Fort Worth, Texas 76107-7275.
Shirley Jean Clark was born September 24, 1936, in Crowder, Oklahoma, to Andrew and Myrtle Clark. She graduated from Canadian High School in 1954. She married the love of her life October 3, 1958. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Cowboys.
She was a longtime member of Richland Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed hosting pool parties for her “Joy” Sunday School Class.
Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and treasured friend, who was loved by all. She lived for her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Andrew and Floyd; and sister, Helen.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Donna Frick and husband, Steve, of Fort Worth, Cheryl Carter and husband, Ricky, of McKinney, Lisa Day and husband, Jeff, of Saginaw; son, Kevin Davis and wife, Lesley, of Seattle, Washington; sister, Merle McClellan of San Marcos, California; beloved grandchildren, Andrea and Chase Frick, Ryan and Jordan Carter, Kyle Davis, Matthew, Travis and Katelyn Day; stepgrandsons, Ian and Geoff Lloyd of Seattle, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
