GLEN ROSE – Shirley Dean Belcher Howeth, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully on December 5th, 2014.
Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M. on Friday, Dec. 12th, at the Granbury Church of Christ.
Shirley was born August 17th, 1932 to Mary Lois and Gilmer Belcher in Lewisville, Texas. While attending Abilene Christian College, she met and married Clinton Everett Howeth on June 13th, 1952. They had three daughters, Debbie, Denise, and Diane. Shirley taught in Texas public schools and supervised student teachers at Abilene Christian University for 38 years. She had a profound influence on the lives of countless students. Shirley loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Lee Umhoeffer.
Survivors: She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Clint Howeth of Glen Rose, daughters Debbie Lambert and husband Stan of Abilene; Denise York and husband Toby of Willis; and Diane Hulburt and husband Tony of Midland; 6 grandchildren Ashley Wallace, Kyle York, Wesley Lambert, Jay Lambert, Eric Hulburt , Rachel Barnett, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Gilmer and Lois Belcher Scholarship Fund at Abilene Christian University.
