Shirley Marie Stokes, 81, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2017, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1313 S.E Parkway, Azle.
Burial: Memory Gardens in Weatherford.
Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Biggers Funeral Home.
Shirley was a 28 year member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was a volunteer for the Bell Choir, a greeter, enjoyed working in the church gardens, and loved the church and it’s people. Through the years, she had acted as Vice President and Visitation Director for the Fort Worth Ostomy Association. She was the caregiver for her mother prior to her death, and loved her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She spent a great deal of her time at her weekend home on Lake Granbury where she loved to fish, enjoy nature, and crochet. She was also a volunteer at the Azle Senior Center.
Survivors: Her husband, Robert E. Stokes; children and their companions, Kimberly Bazzell and Bud, Randy Voss and Lee, and Dodie Hall and Derek; brother, Tony Walker; grandchildren, Daniel Bazzell and wife ,Cherie, Misti DeRego; great-grandchildren, Blake, Tyler, and Michael.
