Shirley Atkinson

Shirley Wood Bedford Atkinson, born July 23, 1929 in Alto, TX, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020.
A longtime resident of Granbury, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 55 years, Bill Bedford, her son Carson Bedford, grandson Peyton Kinchen, two infant great granddaughters, and her brother Charles Wood. She is survived by husband, Hollis Atkinson, children Carolyn Bedford Roberts (George), Brady Bedford (Larue), Linda Bedford Boase, Cody Bedford (Susie), Scott Bedford, Kathy Bedford Womack (Tom), Susan Bedford Davis (Neal), and Marian Bedford Turner, 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great­ grandchildren as well as her brothers Robert Wood (Lois), Donald Wood (Pam), and Kelly Wood. Also surviving her are stepchildren, Ray Atkinson (Charlotte), Paul Atkinson (Susan) and Sherri Bielifeld (Wendell).
A service was held at First Baptist Church in Granbury. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested memorial gifts be made to a renovation fund at First Baptist Church Granbury, 1851 Weatherford Hwy., Granbury, TX 76048.
