Stephen John Heinlein passed away on May 8, 2022, at his home in Alvarado, Texas.
Steve was born on February 18, 1952 in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the youngest child of John Wilson Heinlein and Ruth Bell Heinlein and brother to Carole Heinlein Pore.
Steve enjoyed a rich and accomplished life. Growing up in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Steve met his wife Lynda Statler attending Mount Vernon High School from which they both graduated. Steve and Lynda were married in the fall of 1970, while Steve attended Ashland College. After marrying, Steve and Lynda settled in Mount Vernon and welcomed two amazing sons Kyle Edgar Heinlein and Robby John Heinlein. Steve worked as an operations manager for Cooper Industries, was active in the First Christian Church of Mount Vernon, the Jaycees and boy scouting with Kyle and Robby.
In 1984, Steve was promoted to Regional manager with Cooper Industries and moved to Irving Texas. For the next several years, Steve and his family lived in Irving where he held a number of management positions in the energy sector. During this time, Steve held several leadership positions at the First Christian Church of Irving, Texas where he led youth group activities and cultivated a community of friends and servants in Christ. Steve led an active life of fitness, hobbies and entrepreneurship, establishing and leading several independent small businesses.
In 2004, Steve moved to Alvarado TX, enjoying his retirement with then wife, Kathy Hoyler, his grandchildren and the Field Street Baptist church community. Steve continued his service to the community and Christ by working at the Spirit of Sharing food bank and volunteering at the church.
Steve was a thoughtful and vibrant man who deeply touched everyone he knew. He was faithful, loving and devoted to his family above all. Steve is survived by his son Kyle Heinlein and his wife Michelle Reist; his son Robby Heinlein and his wife Brooke and their daughter Kyla. As well as his sister Carole Pore, nephew Neil Williams and niece Crista Pore White. And many step grandchildren and extended family members all of whom will miss him dearly.
Service will be held to honor Steve at the Field Street Baptist church on June 18th at 10 am. The family gratefully suggests donations to the Spirit of Sharing foodbank in Steve’s name, in lieu of flowers. A donation page has been set up for this at: https://gofund.me/64b45d25.
