Stephen “Steve” Robert Anderson

Services will be at Wylie Funeral Home in Granbury.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 28th at 2:00 pm.

Stephen Robert Anderson (Steve) born November 29, 1938, went home to be with the Lord January 22, 2016. At the time of his death, he and his wife of 54 years owned Anderson Realty Co. in Lipan, Texas. Both Steve and wife Andrea were Real Estate Brokers and she will continue to run the business along with their partner, Marc Bradberry, who although not related, is very much family.

Steve was raised in Riverside/Ft.Worth and graduated from Carter High School in 1956. At the time of his passing he was making plans to be a part of his high school reunion. He stayed in touch with classmates right up until the end. He served in the Army, based at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma 1962 through 1964.

He was a very gifted athlete, both in boxing and three meter diving. Prior to going into the Army, he was 2nd in the state of Texas and one of the top 10 in the nation in AAU Spring Board Diving Championships. Upon going into the Army he was 4th Army diving champion, winning many trophies and awards for the 4th Army.

Steve spent his earlier career working as a computer analyst and programmer, living in Hurst, Tx. and working downtown Ft. Worth. He then retired and moved to the Lipan / Granbury area where he got involved with raising and training horses. His love for the country way of life and Andrea being in the real estate business led him into his passion for becoming a land specialist and brokering rural farm and ranch properties. He obtained the Accredited Land Consultant designation through the Realtors Land Institute. He served on the Board for the Texas Chapter of the Realtors Land Institute and then served two years as its President. He stayed very involved with RLI right up until the end. He was certified to teach RLI classes, and he mentored new members. He attended most of the conferences and was honored with numerous awards. He and Andrea were a team in this and she also obtained her ALC designation. At the time they obtained the ALC, there were only a few in this area of Texas. There are now many, thanks to Steve teaching and promoting the origination at conference trade shows.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Wesley Anderson, and by his younger sister Janet Anderson.

He is survived by: wife Andrea Anderson, son Scott Anderson, daughter Stacy Anderson Flahaut, granddaughters Ashley Anderson & April Flahaut great granddaughter Rilyn, brothers Larry Anderson and John Anderson and John’s wife Margaret and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
