Steve Phillips of Glen Rose passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at 73 years of age at 1st Timothy in Glen Rose Texas

Steve was born in Llano Texas on September 14, 1945 to his parents, John W. Phillips and Stevie Zelma Phillips of Clifton Texas. Steve was a resident of Beaumont Texas and settled in Glen Rose. Steve enjoyed golfing, fishing, stock car racing and collecting coins. He was a devoted father and married to Judy Davidson Phillips. He was extremely proud of his boys, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roy McCoy and sisters Dorothy Mason and Louise Kaleva. Steve is survived by his wife Judy Phillips of Summertown Tennessee and three sons, Steve Jr. and wife Holly of Beaumont Texas, Jerry Phillips and partner Kim Paredes of Glen Rose Texas and Bobby Phillips and wife Lynn Dee of Sulphur Louisiana along with three grandchildren Chelsea, Keenon and Kendon. He is also survived by brothers David Phillips of Clifton Texas and Jessie McCoy and sister Johnnie Locklear, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are being held at Wiley Funeral Home at 504 Holden Street, Glen Rose Texas 76043 on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM.

Steve won a beautiful black purse at the isle and gave it to me. When he told me that it was a contest and he won 2500.00 I opened the purse and said, well I dont see the money. He said you get the purse I keep the money. I joked with him and the purse was a package deal. Purse should still be full of money. We both got a good laugh out of it.
