GRANBURY — Susan R. Whisenant, 58, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 on her birthday in Granbury .
Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Trail Baptist Church. Interment: Tin Top Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home. Memorials: Oak Trail Baptist Missions.
Susan was born November 17, 1954 in Dallas. She worked for the Hood County Attorney’s Office for 19 years. She was a loving Christian lady who served her Lord side by side with her husband, Rev. Mike Whisenant at Oak Trail Baptist Church for many years. Susan was involved with children’s ministry for over 40 years. She loved her family and friends very much. She was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Whisenant; grandparents, Dewey and Susie Coulson and Elsie Johnson; brother, Bobby “Buster” Johnson; nephew, Barrett Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. J.E. Whisenant.
Survivors: Husband, Rev. Mike Whisenant; daughters, Kristi and husband, Ray Lanigan of Fort Worth and Rauni Whisenant of Mineral Wells; son, Justin and wife, Tiffany Whisenant of Granbury; parents, Bob and Pat Johnson of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Zac Lanigan of Palestine, Kandace Lanigan of Fort Worth and Madisyn Whisenant of Granbury; great grandchildren, London Lanigan, Illiauna Lanigan and Michael Lanigan.

Susie was a special childhood friend who was always there for me. We shared Sunday afternoons and ministry memories together. Even though I we hadn't seen each other in a while, when we talked, it was as if we never skipped a beat.
