Tanya Lyn Frederick, 57 of Plano passed away August 17, 2019. She was born in Fort Worth, but grew up in Granbury where she lived, loved and worked for the first two thirds of her life. A proud Pirate Cheerleader who participated in numerous clubs, organizations and sports. Tanya began working in healthcare in 1980 and in one form or fashion made it her life’s work. Working first in health information management in Granbury, the Harris Methodist Health System and Mercy Medical Center in Durango, CO. For the past 16 years, she worked for Southwest Consulting Associates and Turnkey Pharmacy Solutions in healthcare consulting. A specialist in government programs, which assisted newborns with low birth weights and serious health issues and 340B pharmacy programs that helped provide deeply discounted drugs to entities that served high percentages of underserved and indigent populations. She was passionate about finding ways to help the sick and less fortunate.
She married Randy Frederick in 1983 and began an amazing life adventure together which took her to Europe, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and almost all 50 states. She believed travel was an important learning experience for her family and enjoyed experiencing the cultures, foods and traditions of others. Tanya was a magnificent wife, mother and mentor to many. She loved seeing young men and women set ambitious goals and challenged them to reach for them. Her motto was live life with no regrets and was blessed with a caring circle of friends that loved and supported her unconditionally.
Tanya was the mother of two amazing sons that brought the most joy of her life. Her love had no limits and she protected her family like a mama bear protects her cubs. She was always there for the people she loved every minute of every day. She is survived by her husband Randy, two sons Cole Frederick, and his wife Kyndall, of Prosper and Cory Frederick of Plano along with three loving grand dogs. Three sisters Joan Christensen of Luling, Sharon Bass, her husband Jimmy of Granbury, and Suzette Evans and her husband Jeff of Granbury. She was preceded in death by her parents Fritz and Elouise Moore of Granbury.
As for her nieces and nephews, all were very special to her. She loved them, encouraged them, supported them, protected them and when needed wasn’t afraid to give them a little nudge. What resulted was a love and respect that is palpable, and she knows the future of the family is in their loving and capable hands.
A private memorial service will be held for the family, and all that loved Tanya are invited to attend a celebration of her life from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm this Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the N at the Hardway Ranch in Bluff Dale. In lieu of flowers, Tanya encourages you to support your favorite cause or organization, with a special request. Give a few hours of your time to volunteer, roll your sleeves up and make a difference. Tanya would love it if a few of you showed up with hats.
