GRANBURY — Ted R. Morell, 90, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, in Glen Rose.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Pecan Plantation Emergency Medical Services, 958 Monticello Drive, Granbury, Texas 76049.
Ted was born July 21, 1925, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to William Clement Morell and Marie Lapinski Morell. He married Virginia Berset on July 15, 1946, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Ted served in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Division of Postal Inspectors, retiring on Dec. 31, 1977.
Ted served on the board of directors of Pecan Plantation and served on the golf, and financial committees. He was president of Pecan Plantation MGA. He served on the volunteer fire department for 17 years and as chief of EMS for 17 years.
Survivors: Wife of 69 years, Virginia Morell; children, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Morell of Bremerton, Wash., Dr. and Mrs. Patrick Morell of Woodinville, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Joe R. Morell of Columbia, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve Andrews and Margaret Davis; and brothers, Jim Morell and Dennis Morell.
