GRANBURY — Thomas McCallum, Jr., 81, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Fort Worth. Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Granbury. Burial: 3 p.m. in Green Leaf Cemetery in Brownwood. Visitation: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Memorials: First Christian Church or Association of Former Students at Texas A&M.
Thomas was born Feb. 22, 1931 in Robertson County to Thomas Jefferson McCallum, Sr. and Caro Mae Edwards McCallum. He married June Gill on June 1, 1958 in Brownwood. He was a graduate of Texas A&M in 1953 and a member of the Association of Former Students and the Century Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force in North Africa in Tripoli. He was a telephone engineer for G.T.E. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Dec. 3, 2006; daughter, Tonya DeNyse McCallum; and nephew, Charles Ray Shepperd.
Survivors: Sister, Margie and husband, Charles Shepperd of Bryan and Jane and husband, Guy “Reggie” Ward of Fairfield; nephews, David and wife, Kimberly Ward of Houston, Brent and wife, Debbie Burns of Granbury and Michael Burns; great niece, Kennedy Ward of Houston; great nephews, Carter and Jackson Ward of Houston; sister-in-law, Norma Sue and husband, W.C. Burns of Arlington.
