Glen Rose — Thomas “Russell” Lancaster, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, Apr. 16, 2012, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Friday, Apr. 20, 2012, at Glen Rose First United Methodist Church. Burial: 3:00 p.m. at Wolf Valley Cemetery in Brown County, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home.

Mr. Lancaster was born July 29, 1928, in Brown County, Texas, to John D. and Jewel Greer Lancaster. Russell served on the Fort Worth Civil Service Commission before serving on the Fort Worth City Council for 8 years at which time he fought for fiscal conservatism. He was named Male Newsmaker of the Year in 1984. Russell also served on the Senior Citizen Board, Glen Rose Hospital Board and the Somervell County Water Board. He and Malcolm Talman founded Fortune Industries, a aircraft hardware business, in the mid-sixties. Russell was an active member of the Glen Rose United Methodist Church.
Russell married Patsy Hale on May 3, 1952, with whom he had two sons, Rusty (who preceded him in death) and Kirk. Russell was looking forward to reuniting with his wife of 59 years with whom he shared his life with love and laughter.
Survivors: Son, Kirk Lancaster; grandsons, Thomas Lancaster and wife, Belle, Joshua Lancaster; and one great grandson.
