Judy, please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your dad. He and my dad were long time friends, as you know. I intended to take my dad to the visitation this afternoon, but he fell this morning and broke his left shoulder. So I'm so sorry we didn't make it there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

'Uncle' Tommy was a hero in my eyes since childhood. He married my cousin June when I was 8. I remember always having fun when he was present. We used to have reunions on the Leon River and always had a blast. He was strong, gentle brave and a hard working guy. Once when I was working at a summer camp I was taking a group of 6 trainees on a tour of different camps. We were in a old camp station wagon and had engine trouble just outside Granbury. I called him and he was there in a flash, got the car, me and six teenagers to his garage. He fixed the car and won over the teenage girls. They talked about him the entire trip. So far as I know the camp never received a bill. God has truly gathered a special angel into his fold. Prayers for all his family and his extended family. Special prayers for the little ones who loved him so.

Tommy was one of the first people I did any business with after moving to Granbury. I had an old car that I know he had to put some of it together with duct tape. He was always fair with me and I so appreciated that since I was a single mother with 2 small daughters. I know there are more and more stories like this. I wish to let the family know I am so sorry for their loss, but happy for God's gain and for Tommy now to be able to walk as he should on streets of gold.
