There are individuals that cross your path that make a permanent impact on your life. Tom Adams was one of those men. The stories are endless. He was an outstanding educator and mentor. He left a lasting impact on his students for generations. His choirs were the best in Texas for decades BECAUSE OF TOM ADAMS. Prayers of peace and condolence to Carole, Perry, Cherie and their families. jb Isiah 40:31

"Music enhances the education of our children by helping them to make connections and broadening the depth with which they think and feel." Yo-Yo Ma Often times in my life I have reflected on the cherished memories of my time spent with Mr. Adams. Creating beautiful music with my fellow students, traveling to music day camp in Odessa, traveling to long term music camp in Canyon, competing in solo and ensemble competition, the excitement of music festivals across East and South Texas, and of course, dominating the West Texas Choral competition! But there was so much more than that. We shared traveling to area schools for high school musicals, filming high school football games, spelunking in Eastern New Mexico wild caves, watching John Wayne movies at the high school, and of course, selling the World’s Finest Chocolates! Mr. Adams was that guy. That guy who gave so much of himself to young people. That guy who put memories in our hearts, and music in our souls. That teacher we will never forget. We will keep Mr. Adams in our thoughts and in our prayers. Of course, including his family who shared their father and husband so selflessly with the rest of us. "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal." Albert Pine P.S. I still believe today, as we all did back then, that Mr. Adams’ middle initial stood for Rehearsal!
Pam (Allen) Bridge left a message on December 15, 2020:
Mr. Adams made choir a very special privilege in which to be a part. We did not understand what we were capable of until he brought it out of each of us individually and as a group. Being in his class was a very special experience and I looked forward to it. Mr. Adams was the finest teacher I ever had. I am positive every student felt the same. Though I was ready to get on with my next adventure upon graduation in 1973 AHS, it wasn’t without a deep sadness to be leaving Mr. Adams class. Mr. Adams taught at Andrews with the Auto-mechanics instructor who became my father in law in 1975, Bill Bridge. We send our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Adams during your difficult time of loss. Pam and Mike Bridge, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We will miss you, Uncle Tommy, even though we weren’t close by to visit. May God bless Carole and Cherie and all the grandchildren, and comfort them during this time. Growing up, my family would drive from North Carolina to Texas to celebrate Christmas. We have missed seeing you over the years. One day soon we will all be together!

Tom was one of a kind. Neighbor, Teacher and friend. He was always a joy to be around and was a great Choir Teacher. His laughter was great. May God Bless the entire family during this time.

Please accept my sympathy. I have good memories of being a member of Mr. Adams' choir at Bowie Jr. High in Odessa. From the years mentioned for his time at Bowie it looks as though we were some of his first students so I guess we didn't scare him away from teaching! I often wondered about where he had gone to teach after moving from Odessa. May your family be comforted by years of special memories of your father and grandfather.
