I remember Toms's garden. I was so jealous of his little orchard of fruit trees that he was so wise to plant. He nurtured those little trees until they burst forth with beautiful fruit he shared with his friends and family. I consider myself lucky to be one of them.

Tom is one of the best friends I have. He and I shared a duck or goose blind many times as well as working together. He was an extremely happy person who never failed to make me laugh. I will miss him dearly. You only have a few true friends and I have now lost one. I Love You Tom.

My memories of Tom - few though they are are very special to me. One in particular makes me laugh every time I think of it. I was having a bad day, nothing specific, just feeling sorry for myself kind of day when I drove by Tom and Carolyn's house and there was Tom in his pajamas walking to theB mailbox. I can tell you he made my day! I started to laugh and to this day I still chuckle when I think of him trotting about in his PJ's. Carolyn, you are in my thoughts and my heart sweet girl. Be strong, be brave and know that you are loved by so many people.

You were the Father I never had and I loved you more than life itself. I am so grateful for our mornings that we spent together and am a much better man and person for having known you. My heart aches but I am grateful God chose to call you home in such a loving and painless way. You checked out after a wonderful morning playing in your garage, backyard, garden, and sitting with Mom enjoying a cup of coffee in your favorite chair on your back porch which is exactly the way I picture you would have wanted. I miss you.

Oh Daddy...how I miss you so much! It still feels so unreal...that I can't just pick up the phone and call you, or that I will never feel one of your big hugs, or to just sit and talk when I need advice. You were the best Daddy, and I am so thankful for the 45 years that I had with you! I could not ask God for a better way to take you home....peaceful and painless..HAPPY...doing the things you loved!! I am not looking forward to the next few months, as I know they are going to be filled with pain and emptiness. I do look forward to seeing you in a Heaven!! I MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU SO MUCH DADDY!!

Sincere ondolences to Tom's family. I worked for Tom 27 years ago at OWLS at 2 different locations in Granbury. He was not only a good boss, but I considered him a friend. I found him to be firm, fair, funny and very loyal to his many friends and family. Too long a story to relate the context in which it was said, but one of my favorite quotes (and running inside joke) was: "We aren't running a drugstore here." After leaving Granbury due to my husband's job transfer, a prospective employer called Tom for a reference. My new employer told me that Tom just said, "If you let her leave without hiring her, you are a fool." That pretty much sums up his humor, fairness and loyalty. God Bless him and his family.

I knew Tom for your years. Tom was not only a friend of the family but part of the family. He was the type of person that no matter what mood you where in he could always make you laugh. He will be missed but will always be in our hearts.

It is very hard to imagine our world without Tom Vecchio. He had a generosity of spirit that was rare. He could always find the humor in life, which he shared freely. Best of all, he genuinely loved his kids and grandchildren-- both his own and those he "adopted." Tom was lucky to have Carol's love and devotion. He will be greatly missed but kept in our hearts.

Our deepest condolences to the Vecchio family. We only met Tom once while he & Raymond were in San Antonio and shared a meal with him. We feel as we knew him well because our son Raymond shared so many stories of him to us. He was a good man and a very dear friend to our son. We are greatful for the time and wisdom he shared with Raymond, he was truly a great friend to him & he will be missed. Elsa & Frank Medina
