DECORDOVA — Tom Vecchio, 71, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Granbury.
Funeral: A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Wiley Funeral Home. Inurnment of cremains will take place at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation: 9:00 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Friends of Animals in Acton.
Tom was born April 5, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Thomas Joseph Veechio, II and Theresa Zingalis Vecchio. He married Carolyn Lynne Sitz, Oct. 17, 1999, in DeCordova. He was a member of Stonewater Church. Tom served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. Tom served as area chairman of Ducks Unlimited for 30 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved woking in his garden and feeding the animals in his yard. Tom loved NASCAR and watching baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, RoseAnn Cox and Marilynn Daugherty.
Survivors: Wife, Carolyn Vecchio; children, James Newport, Kimberly Walker and husband, Brian, Samantha Valosek and husband, Terry, Laura Mason and husband, Chris, Raymond Medina and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Brooke Dazey and husband, Robert, Taylor Newport, Brittany Stallcup, Fox Valosek, Brianna Stallcup, Braelyn Stallcup, Makenna Mason; great grandson, Ryan Dazey; and a brother, Joseph Vecchio.
