Valda Nadine Foster, 64, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, at her home in Weatherford surrounded by her family.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment: 2:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery: Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Valda was born September 16, 1947, in Holliday to Louis and Ila Sparks Snow. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School (1965), Troy State University (bachelor’s) and the University of North Texas (master’s).
She married Tommy Foster and together they raised their son, Chad, and their daughter, Rachelle.
Val enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a passion for teaching. She spent the majority of her career at N.A. Howry Intermediate School in Lake Worth and retired from Carter Junior High in Arlington.
Val was known for her quick wit and generosity. She possessed an incredible capacity for kindness and forgiveness that speaks to all our better angels.
Val and her family would like to extend gratitude to Velma Lee Barr for caregiving and Mae Scott for friendship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Foster; parents, Louis and Ila Snow; and brothers, William “Bud” Snow and Lewis Edwin Snow.
She is survived by: Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Chad Foster; daughter, Rachelle Campbell and her husband, Rob; grandchildren, Avery and Preston Campbell; sisters, Hazel Hambright and Joyce Gresham and her husband, James Gresham; and many greatly loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
