Verbon Arnold Owen, 87, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.
Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Walnut Creek Baptist Church.
Committal with military honors: Azleland Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Verbon Arnold Owen was born in Cullman, Alabama, December 9, 1928, to Verbon and Callie Knight Owen. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Owen was married to Glenda Sue Neighbors on September 15, 1966, in Weatherford. They lived in Poolville for 20 years before moving to Reno where they have lived for the last 30 years.
Owen retired from Sid Richardson Carbon and Gas Company in 1994. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with couples from the church and to bluegrass music festivals.
Owen was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Glen Elliott Owen, Carolyn Owen Hull, Ronald K. Owen and Samuel T. Owen.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Neighbors Owen; children, Donna Sue Bell and husband, Ben, Debbie Murphree, Sandy Summarell and husband, Randy; his sister, Brenda Weddell and husband, Ron; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
