Vernon was born December 26, 1919 in Devol, Okla. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran, a retired Church of Christ minister, and the retired owner of Arrow Sharpening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Simpson; son, Joe Simpson, his parents and sister.
Survivors: Daughter, Sandra Riggle and her husband Bill of Arizona; daughter-in-law, Charla Simpson of Oregon; brother, Don Simpson and his wife, Jeanne of Texas; along with extended family including multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
