VICKY SUE COMPTON PALMER
Vicky Sue Palmer was born September 1, 1951 in Stephenville, Texas. She was the
youngest daughter of Coy and Margaret (Blondy) Compton. Vicky died Sunday,
September 18, 2011 after battling Melanoma for 21 months.
She is survived by her husband of33 years, Ron Palmer, of Pecan Plantation in Granbury and their sons, Bradley Palmer of Dallas, Todd Palmer of Mesquite, Paul Palmer of Dallas. Vicky is survived by 4 sisters: Pat Morrison (husband, Leon), Judy Kirkpatrick, Jimmie Borum (husband, Winston), all of Pecan Plantation, Granbury; and Celia Yowell (husband, Charles) of Ennis. Her family also includes Charles and Brenda Palmer of Pecan Plantation; Chris and Laura Palmer of Flower Mound; Jon and Carla Lewis of Austin. Many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins. and life-long friends loved Vicky. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Soon after her birth, Vicky moved with her family to Ennis. She grew up there as a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She graduated from Ennis High School (1969) and Mary Hardin Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Vicky practiced her profession at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, and spent 17 years as a school nurse in Mesquite ISD. In Mesquite, Vicky and Ron were members of First Methodist Church.
During the past 4 years Ron and Vicky have been transitioning to Pecan Plantation, where they planned to retire on the banks of the Brazos.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 24,2011, at Acton Baptist
Church, 3500 Fall Creek Hwy., Acton, Texas. Rev. Glenn Ward of Acton Baptist and Rev. Johnny Campbell, Vicky’s uncle, will conduct services. All of Vicky’s nephews serve as honorary pall bearers. Burial will be private.

Just like Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7 said, Vicky could say “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
