Virlene was an outstanding woman and leader. In her role as the Director for the Greater Southwest Region Fleet Management Division she broke the glass ceiling as being among the first women to reach director level within the General Services Administration. Her strong leadership contributed greatly in helping make the GSA Fleet Division one of the best programs in the Federal government. I am very fortunate and blessed to have worked for someone like Virlene and will always cherish the memories I have of her. She was very inspiring and always made me want to do my best. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. RIP Virlene.

When I first met Ms. Virlene, I was 19 years old. I had just been hired as a student aide. I had never met anyone like her. I was…I want to be like her. Ms. Virlene commanded every room she entered not just because she was the Boss but because with every step, her confidence was visible. As a woman she was inspiring, a role model and so grateful to have met her. RIP Boss.
