WEATHERFORD — Walter Evans Arington Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, in Weatherford.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Hood County.
Mr. Arington was born March 3, 1926, in Fort Worth, to Walter Evans Arington Sr. and Josephine Novella Price Arington. He married Velda Gray in 1954. He was a member of Chico Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as a radioman first class in the Pacific campaign from 1941 to 1946. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad from 1946 to 1950 and as district manager for Curtiss Industries from 1959 to 1987. He was a master Mason at a lodge in north Fort Worth.
Survivors: Sons, James David Arington of Fort Worth, Harold James Arington and wife, Marian, of Fort Worth, David Earl Arington and wife, Karen, of North Richland Hills; daughter, Barbara Susan King and husband, Bill, of Wylie; grandchildren, Misty Todd, Amanda Arington Kirby, James Arington Jr., Hollie Marlow, David Arington Jr., Ami Lea, Jessica Lea, Jemila Lea, Clifton Ables, Mark Bellahs; great-grandchildren, Payton Todd, Nicholas Todd, Alexis Anile, Rebecca Anile, Rachel Arington, Tobias Kirby, Landon Marlow, Kirsten Lea; sister, Jo Sullivan Ayers; and niece, Diane Sullivan.
