Wanda Jean Whitson, 76, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020.
She was born in Seymour, Texas to Claudia Jannette Fancher Byrket and Velvo Bunkley Byrket on August 9, 1943. She was raised in Seymour, and had attended Seymour I.S.D. where she was active in tennis, volleyball and the Baptist church.
After high school, she attented business school in Wichita Falls before returning to Seymour to work at the local bank. This employment evolved into the start of a career in banking and finance.
She moved to Lubbock in 1969 to work for Western Union. There, she met Charles “Chuck” Whitson; the two soon married, and with his daughters, Dottie and Tisha, moved to Texas.
Charla was soon born in Lubbock before the family moved to Ft. Worth in 1974, where Charles was born.
In 1985, she moved to the H.E.B. area where she lived until her passing. She continued working in banking and finance until retirement, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eddy Bryket; a daughter, Tisha Lynn, and a great-grandson, Cayson Lee Blevins.
Survivors: She is survived by her children, Charla, Charles, and Dottie Conner; grandchildren, Taylor, Codi and her husband, Cayden, Devin, Reece, and Christopher; a great-grandchild, Dylan; and by two sisters, Roxie Lanningham, Jo Petty (Gale).
