GRANBURY — Wanda Ray Twitty of Granbury passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Granbury First United Methodist Church.
Interment: 3 p.m. Saturday in Dundee Cemetery in Dundee.
Wanda was born Dec. 11, 1937, in Wichita Falls to Hoyt M. and Willie Burge Sissom. She and Kyndall “KG” Twitty grew up together in Dundee. As childhood friends, Wanda rode to the bus stop on Kyndall’s shoulders. It wasn’t until KG returned from the service that they began a courtship and were married Jan. 9, 1960. Wanda managed the finances of the family concrete construction business for over 45 years.
Wanda’s hobbies were gardening and crafting, and she was a member of the Granbury Cloggers for many years. She loved people and helping people. Above all things, Wanda cherished being a mother and a grandmother. She was a member of Granbury First United Methodist Church and read her Bible on a daily basis, as evidenced by the well-worn pages. Family members have deep memories of her brisket and German chocolate cake that she always made for family gatherings. Wanda’s style and warm and loving nature will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, KG; son, Scott; parents; sister, Betty; niece, Donna; and nephew, Gene.
Survivors: Daughter, Debra Twitty Parish and husband, Brad; grandchildren, Garrett Scott and Katy Colleen; brother, Melvin Sissom and wife, Barbara; sister, Cindy Oliver and husband, Mike; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; and our loving extended family at Trinity Mission.
