TOLAR — Wayne Whaley, 87, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in Tolar.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: Nancy Smith Cemetery in Somervell County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Whaley was born Sept. 1, 1925, in Red River County, Texas, to John William Whaley and Bertha Freeman Whaley. He married Lillian Daniel, Oct. 31, 1974, in Durant, Okla. Wayne was retired from LTV. He enjoyed gardening and watching ballgames on TV. He was a member of Elm Grove Assembly of God in Tolar. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Willie Whaley, Glen Whalely, sister, Letha Brown, brother-in-law, Walter Brown, and sisters-in-law, Lola Whaley and Jane Whaley.
Survivors: Wife, Lillian Daniel Whaley of Tolar; sons, Carrol Whaley and wife, Linda, of Orlando, Fla., Gary Whaley and wife, Kim, of Frisco; daughter, Joyce Kennemer of Austin; grandchildren, Rodney, Brandon and Brett Whaley, Mellissa, Shelia, Brooke, Brandi, Rachel and Lisa; great grandchildren, Tyler, Cade, Jackson, Peyton, Grayson, Patricia, Hannah, Shadie, Shiloh; great great granddaughter, Courtney; sister, Judy Jandro of California.
