Granbury — W.B. “Dub” Cargill, Jr., 81, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 in Sugar Land. Service: 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
Dub was born Dec. 8, 1933 in Cottonwood to William Bartus Cargill, Sr. and Wynama Strandrige Cargill. He married Louise Swartz on June 1, 1952 in Kennedale. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Lockheed after 36 years of service. Dub was a 32nd degree member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Worth, was active in supporting and starting several churches, loved to travel, loved his family and singing gospel music.
Survivors: Wife, Louise Cargill; daughter, Rita Ellerd and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Joshua Ellerd and wife, Brittany and Jared Ellerd; great grandchild, Harley Ellerd; brother and sisters, Wanda Cargill, Bobby Cargill and wife, Joan and Peggy Hammer and husband, Danny; sisters-in-law, Hazel Wallace and Dorothy Pearson; and several nieces and nephews.
