Wendell E. Cowles, 93, passed away Tuesday March 11, 2014.

Family services will be held at a later date in Oklahoma.

Wendell was born September 11, 1920 in Washita County, Oklahoma to Henry and Neva Cowles. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 in the 10th Mountain Division, 85th Regiment. He had a fantastic sense of humor and was a man who was always doing things to help others.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Crawford Cowles on March 6, 2013, and by two children, Donna Louise Cowles and Terry Eugene Cowles.

He is survived by his daughter, Neva Cotten; grandchildren, Kimberli Hinson and husband Todd, Kathy Klafta and husband Philip, Donna Cowles, and Karen Hickock and husband Peter; great-grandchildren, Emily and Grant Hinson, Neva, Abigail, and Adiya Klafta, and Margaret Hickock.
