William “Bill” Ayres Guinn

William “Bill” Ayres Guinn, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 2, 2020. Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson’s over 12 years ago. He fought with an unyielding spirit and determination to conquer this terrible disease. Bill celebrated almost 82 years on this earth. He was born on February 15, 1938, to Kathryn and Arthur Guinn of Steubenville, Ohio. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth “Buzz” McGrew, on September 9, 1956.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Buzz, daughter Marilyn Haskins of Granbury, daughter Marsha Mena of Tampa, Florida, son Mike Guinn of Pantego, daughter Margie Stacy and her husband Brandy of Burleson. He was “PaPa” to his adoring grandchildren: Jason Guinn,Sarah Siegal, Dion Mena, Sydney and Jake Stacy, one great-grandson, Triston Guinn, and his sister, Patti Warner Myers of Marble Falls.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Arthur Guinn, his sister, Barbara Guinn and grandson, Brian Mena.

Throughout his life, Bill excelled at anything he attempted, both professionally and personally. He believed in always doing the job right, the first time. He worked at LTV as a mechanical engineer and later worked for General Dynamics where he retired as a F16 Program Director. During retirement, Bill loved playing golf and working in his workshop. He built furniture, crafted leather goods and was well known for the beautiful wood pens he made. He loved building special “Christmas Gifts” for everyone in the family. Bill and Buzz traveled extensively around the world, enjoying golf at many locations.
