Jack Long left a message on August 18, 2022:
I owe a great deal to Larry Shaw. I worked with Larry for 25 Years at the City of Duncanville. We played a lot of basketball together as well as volleyball and baseball tournaments between City Departments. Larry selected me as Chief of Police for the City of Duncanville. I will never forget what Larry did for me. Larry I will keep an eye on our Cowboys down here but I know you will have a better seat up there! Rest in Peace.

Prayers for sweet Linda and family. Every time I saw Larry he was always smiling. Will be greatly missed

Larry was a special man. He was my boss and mentor while at the City of Duncanville. He taught me a great deal. Even when he was not directly teaching me, he was teaching. He was a leader who transformed a city (honestly when it needed it most). He touched so many people in his 30 plus years of public service. I know that I speak for many when I say “he will be missed.” Godspeed Larry and prayers for Linda, Mike and the family. Jeremiah 29:11
