William “Bill” Roy Gregory of Granbury, 74, passed April 1, 2014 in Granbury.
Bill was born in Yoakum, Texas on Aug. 14, 1939 to Roy and Emmalene Gregory, who preceded him in death, along with the brother Ben Ray and sister, Jeri Gregory.
After Bill completed is military service in the U. S. Marines, having served in Vietnam, the Cuban Crisis and Okinawa, he returned to is family in Houston. He worked with his father on golf courses in and around the Houston area.
In later years he worked on the Alaskan pipeline.
Bill is survived by his two children, son, Roy Hollingsworth and wife Deborah, daughter Jerilyn Bolin and husband Randall, grandchildren, Bryce and Lauren Bolin, Wyatt Lane as well as two nephews and two nieces. Bill was also survived by his former spouse, Marie Hollingsworth and sisters-in-laws, Doddie and mary Gregory.
Bill was an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7835, the Marine Corps League Post 1297 and the American Legion Post 491, all in Granbury.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at the VFW Post 7835, 3670 Highway 377.
