William W. Willard

William. W. Willard, 78, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 in a Fort Worth hospital.

Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Fullness in Christ, 8895 Random Road, Fort Worth, Texas  76179.

Visitation: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Biggers Funeral Home.

“Bill” was born July 27, 1942 in New London, Connecticut to his parents, Lawrence Curtis and Mary Blanche (Kropowski) Willard.

He proudly served his country as a United States Marine, serving in the Vietnam War from 1960 to 1964.

After his military service, he worked as a paid Fireman for the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department in Groton, Connecticut.  He eventually pursued another career as a Scale Technician, working as a Toledo Scale Technician, retiring after 20 years from Pfizer, Groton, Connecticut.

After relocating to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, he found the urge to further his life’s endeavors, taking the position as a Superiendant for multiple New Home Builders in the DFW, Arlington area from 1995 to 2015

Bill and Pat had married in Noank, Connecticut on September 10, 1966, and they have been married for 54 years.

Bill is a loving “family man” and has dedicated his life to modeling in his own way the Love of Christ to each one.

Simple things and simple ways were part of Bill’s life.  Second hand shops, yard sales, antiques, walks hand in hand around the neighborhood with Pat.

Bill’s “best friend” was Jesus!  He would spend hours talking with Him, praying, reading and listening to His Words.  He could be seen every night, head on his pillow, right arm extended talking with God about those he loved, calling each out by name, praying for the lost, sick and hurting.

Bill was an Elder at Fullness in Christ Church, for 20 years.  He was a man of great kindness, gentleness, wisdom, insight and encouragement.

He loved all things Civil-War, John Wayne, western artifacts, movies and old records.

As his own children grew up and began their families, a joy of his life was to be given. Sarah Rogers was a gift from God to mentor.  “Papa” became her buddy; watching movies, teaching her to sew, staining furniture, casting a fishing rod, and so much more!

Bill would desire above all else that each one of you would come to know his Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and best friend ever!!

Bill was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Matthew Willard, by his father, Lawrence Curtis Willard, and mother, Mary Blanche Kropowski Willard.

Bill is survived by his: wife of 54 years, Patricia Willard; sons, Shantai Willard  of Waco, Texas,  Jonathan Willard and his wife, Rebekah of Fort Worth; daughter, Amy Hampton and her husband, Damian of Killeen, Texas; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Lawrence Willard and his wife, Phyllis of Dover, Delaware, Thomas Willard and wife, Anita of North Grosvenor Dale, Connecticut, and Robert Willard and his wife, Nancy; and a multitude of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
