LIPAN — Winnie Boggan Moore, 91 passed away Dec. 30, 2012 in Clifton, TX. She was born Oct. 20, 1921 in Milam County to Frank W. and Susie Winnie Holland Boggan. Services: 2;00 P.M. Thursday, Jan. 3 at The First Baptist Church in Lipan. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery at Lipan. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Wiley Chapel in Lipan. Winnie was married to Pleas Thomas “Jack” Moore on May 26, 1940. They shared over 67 years. In their early years they lived and worked in Houston and Fort Worth until moving to Lubbock in 1945. After college, Jack was ordained a Baptist Minister and served churches in Ralls, Hart Camp, Klondike, Lipan and Stephenville in Texas and Melrose, Clovis, Lovington and Pleasant Hill in New Mexico. Mrs. Moore lived in Lipan for 20 years and the last two in Clifton. She was a member of the Chieftains and Squaws and diligent in her work with Baptist Women’s Missionary Union. She wrote “The Smoke Signals” for the Hood County News and enjoyed sewing, crochet and painting pictures. She was a true Pastor’s Wife and taught Sunday School.
She was preceded by her parents, husband Reverend Jack Moore and a brother, Vester Boggan.
